2026-w10 conversation

The word that sums up this week is: conversation. A top moment for me was going for a run and spending some time by myself (I don’t get much of that in my big family!). I also finally got to work through my personal six-monthly review & goal setting, which runs March to end of August 1. My theme word is ‘slower’ so I tried to lean into that a bit more with my goals, as on my now page.

Something I’m looking forward to next week is getting a little more solitude with my book than normal. Also ordering some more fountain-pen friendly journals 😁. At the moment I am loving MD Paper A5 ruled notebooks.

Understanding. Some really interesting points from Brené Brown in her podcast on the mid-life ‘spiritual awakening’. Must revisit this.

Creating & cultivating. A way to use Power Automate to start the day with draft emails to each of my team leads, so it’s super easy to attach / add assignments to send and reduce my own cognitive load.

Consuming. Deviled egg (been a while!) and a load of Baklava.

Connecting. Some good conversations with my dad and others this week, including over gyros one lunchtime. I also enjoyed some conversation with my team over a multi-disciplinary review we had.

  1. I wanted to do six monthly instead of annually because a year felt too long (and quarterly was tough to fit in). I still love the back-to-school feeling every September, almost 20 years on, so I thought I’d make my ‘new year’ start then. This also neatly avoids both the Christmas and UK end of financial year crazy times.
