Irons in the fire
This page is a slightly more … transient version of my now page. It is a page describing a number of things I am toying with, trying or cultivating. Some get more energy, some will be abandoned. Not much in this life is permanent.
(- [p] = feeling good about it; - [c] = not so good)
Health
- [p] Running again.
- [c] Crisps only per week
- [c] Quiet prayer / Bible times. Somatic approach? Safe, incremental increases. Be aware of state and cues of safety and danger: what’s keeping me from doing what I want, what is natural? What makes it difficult, what are the blockers?
- [c] no evening meal dessert
- [c] Bed at 22.30 for sleep by 23.00
Routines
- [p] Pausing more. Sense of how I am in my body. Winning and seeing the benefits
- [c] Friday review time/ Involve others?
- [p] Interstitial journalling. Ideally including reset before the next thing; stretch, stand up, let go, decide what energy or mood is needed for the next thing.
- [p] Daniel prayers
- [c] Daily wind down add to the daily sheet events, achievements, good bad, commencement time. Tick Tick habit tracker?
Leader role at work
- [p] See my 1:1s not as meetings but productive time. Ask for team lead feedback on these.
- [c] Looking around and being more aware of my team’s state
- [c] Wednesday walks & strategic thinking
- [?] hot debriefs
- [p] Being clear about how I assign tasks to others: initiative level and dates.
- [c] Resisting email handbacks
- [?] “Feedback is a persona I put on”
Emails and tasks
- [p] Tick Tick for task management
- [p] Using Outlook draft folder and Power Automate to help me quickly assign tasks
- [c] Processing and responding to only emails from the day before or earlier. Struggling: dopamine? Walk first?
- [?] Weekly planning ritual. More review of the programme, created a new crib sheet.
- [c] My weekly and monthly task mechanisms [try task processing in the morning, and also not using TickTick as an inbox]
- [c] Email processing window. 1 hour strict? This adds up to 13% of my time. Change background to cyber? Use a pomo? use flags for later response.
