2026-w04 music
The word that sums up this week is: music. I spent a bit of time in the car and at home rekindling joy in some old favourites: Muse, Jars of Clay and Radiohead. A top moment for me was sneaking in a late night with my wife, each of us enjoying a novel. Something I’m looking forward to next week is being at home the whole week, with something closer to a normal routine: first week since before Christmas!
Understanding. Some interesting neuroscience in the book I am reading (slowly): Addiction and Grace.
Creating & cultivating. Assembled the family electronic drum set, after over a year hiding in a box taking up space in my bedroom. I have also enjoyed getting out a second-hand Samsung 35mm zoom point-shoot. I have a feeling this will better suit my current needs than the SLR.
Consuming. Enjoyed some YouTube reaction videos to Muse and Radiohead. Doug’s approach gives me a new appreciation to some old favourites. A very salty gammon and chips at a hotel near the east coast.
Connecting. I met up with my wife at a nice French cafe, where we had our first date over 16 years ago. Also an emotional / spiritual connection or experience with God through my two, 3ish hour drives to and from a hotel for work.
Pen & ink combo: Super 5 fine (?) stub with 🟩 Diamine Green Black.
For my future self: God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness
