2026-w12 agency
The word that sums up this week is: agency. I had a lot of meetings and it really got to me: I felt a significant lack of agency over my time. I have a day like that this coming week, but as it is isolated, I can see it as ‘input day’, with next day set aside for processing. A top moment for me this week was harvesting my grapefruit tree for the first time! Also a family visit to the woods for a short walk; being in the trees is one of my happy places.
Something I’m looking forward to next week is pushing into my routines again.

March w/c 2026-03-16
Understanding. Refinement of what I want to do in my OBTF system (see my last post). I am still loving using Outlook calendar as my task manager.
Creating & cultivating. I put up a netball hoop for the kids. My plaintext system, as posted. I also spent a bit of time removing myself from Google a little bit more: by exporting my playlists as CSV and creating a URL for them that doesn’t need a login (limited to 50 vids though). I want to ‘own’ the playlists, at least the titles! Also hoping this will help with my YouTube problem I’ve posted about.
Consuming. So.many.blogs. I need to calm down now and get my screentime back under control! Also some nice pale ale :-)
Connecting. Felt a bit isolated this week amongst the busyness. But then this Sunday I had a good chat with another dad and engineer at church, and then we had some guests for for a really chilled lunch.
