The word that sums up this week is: family. I spent quite a bit of time with family on both sides, including a particularly restful day on Saturday celebrating some collective birthdays with pizza, park and fire. A top moment for me was being in the woods with the kids.
Something I’m looking forward to next week is reducing the number of meetings in the morning :-/

Understanding. About a ‘docket’ system for collaboration at work, instead of multiple email rounds (courtesy of Cal Newport). How maybe part of my struggles at work relate to being a bit of an introvert: I am trying to institute ‘office hours’ of 11.00 to 16.30 to limit the impact of meeting as much as I can. Creating & cultivating. The docket system mentioned above: a trial in my team anyway I am nervous they will just ignore me! I am much scrapping my TODO.md in favour of just writing stuff in my notebook on the day on a postit, and scheduling in Outlook (already do the latter). It didn’t make sense to have things in 3 places. Some tweaking of this blog styling. Slowly adding 2025 into my new Obsidian vault.
Consuming. San Miguel. Blogs … I have started to use an RSS reader in the hopes of reining in my consumption. A little back into Wheel of Time 9: this one has been hard to get drawn into. Babybell cheese.
Connecting. With the kids all day Mon and Tue while my wife worked. I had a blast in two gloriously summery days in April. Also seeing some of my side of the family plus inlaws. My 1 year old nephew is very cute. Had some good ‘parenting chat’ with some mums at Church; nice to not feel alone.
