2026-w16 furious
The word that sums up this week is: furious. I had steam coming out of my ears early in the week because of a customer email. I had imaginary arguments day and night until our frought meeting on Thursday. I think I held my own, but even more important it was a rare occasion when we, our client, and the contractor united against a common enemy in a goal :-D ! I am really pleased with how my unofficial ‘office hours’ initiative is going: a keeper for sure.
A top moment for me was getting some wisteria and a lime tree for the garden and in the house. Something I’m looking forward to next week is getting my bike back from the shop: had to scratch around to find something for the coming week, sadly!

Understanding. Learning about seasonality through this Cal Newport interview of Sara Hart-Unger. I really like the concept of aligning with the academic year, now that our kids are in school, along with her idea of splitting the year into 5 ‘seasons’. I’ll definitely give it a go! My wife and I also reflected that we were near burnout by Easter break, so one to consider for seasonal planning in the future.
Creating & cultivating. I got some new plants as above. Also shifting concrete rubble from old paving flags in the back garden. Only took 12 years to get the last one up!
Consuming. Cadbury creme eggs still, yum! Some nice wine and finally got into WoT Book 9.
Connecting. Felt a little on the low side for connections this week. But we did hang out with a few neighbours / people from Church this afternoon.
Pen & ink combo: Conklin Duragraph with custom F nib and 🟫 KWZ Iron Gall Orange (which is very not orange for me)
For my future self. Continuing from before: I am not in control, I am leading with presence and clarity.
