an inky journey

I’ve been keeping track of what I ink in each pen 🖋️. I often re-ink a pen with the same, so this comes in handy: but it also serves to show what I like over time and allows comparison. I inked up some pens today and flicked through—only just realising that it goes back to 2019 😮.

Wow has so much changed since then! My youngest daughter wasn’t born yet, my oldest was barely in school. We’ve lived through Lockdown, house remodelling 🔨, 3 years on a tough work project, going off with stress and now on another painful one: this time gritting through it 😬. I’ve learned about journals, planners & pocket notebooks 📓 and week notes. I took a deep dive into Obsidian, then I made a website and now I’m on this blog. I’ve come full circle back to an iPod shuffle, film camera and no WhatsApp or social media. I’ve also been through a life-changing addiction recovery journey, which came with with groups and sponsors & sponsees. I’ve had some spiritual moments, slowly learning to accept that God is kind and may, in fact, actually like me. I could go on. It’s been a ride, that’s for sure!

I think some of what hit me is the pre- and post-pandemic bookending of life since 2019. I’d love to hear your story!
